Jackie grew up in Florida and graduated from the University of Florida in 2008 with a degree in English. Unsatisfied with traditional career paths of that field, Jackie flew out to southern Utah as a candidate for a wilderness therapy program. She fell in love with the desert and quickly appreciated how powerful the wilderness setting can be for teenagers working through their problems. Jackie served as a senior field instructor for three years, then transitioned to a residential program for several years. After a backpacking trip across Spain, Jackie returned to wilderness at Second Nature in 2014 as a field instructor. She was excited to be part of a program that emphasized healthy communication and personal growth. In 2016, Jackie moved into the office as Parent Coordinator. Having spent seven years working directly with teenagers, she now enjoys being able to support parents who have trusted their children to our team. Jackie lives in Salt Lake City with her new husband, where she spends her free time travelling, reading, and running around with their energetic dog Cooper.
