Ciara was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. Having grown up in a home with both parents in the mental health profession, she was able to see the impact that therapeutic programs have on adolescents' lives. She always knew she wanted to help others, so she attended Dixie State University to pursue her nursing degree. Ciara graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2018. Upon graduation, she started working as a Registered Nurse at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake on the Neuroscience Trauma Unit. Ciara says that working with pediatric and adolescent patients and their families during their most difficult times gave her the opportunity to be a light in people's lives. Since then one of her biggest life goals is to continue to be a light and a guide for those facing adversities.

Having grown up hearing about different therapeutic programs, Ciara knew that working for Second Nature would mean working for the best wilderness therapy program in the country. When the opportunity came to be part of the admissions team, she didn't hesitate to say yes.

When Ciara is not working she enjoys hiking the beautiful mountains of Salt Lake, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. She also loves reading and has a goal of trying to read 40 books every year.   `
