Laraine has a passion for serving others, especially as an educator. Born and raised in Oregon, she began her university studies at Brigham Young University, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Education. Laraine received a Master's Degree in Education from Washington State University with a focus in Diverse Learning and special certification in At-Risk Student Populations. At Portland State University she secured credentials in Educational Leadership.

Laraine has had the opportunity to serve school communities in a multitude of roles including; general education teacher, special education teacher, educational consultant in the areas of alternative education and behavioral supports, school district behavior specialist, private and public school principal, district administrator, and adjunct education professor. Prior to joining Second Nature, Laraine served as a school director in rural Alaska. Laraine has been married to her best friend for 34 years, is the mother of three and proud grandmother of four adorable grandchildren.

As a life long learner, Laraine is always ready for a new adventure.
