Nate first discovered wilderness therapy in 2008 while working as an elementary teacher searching for an excuse to get outside. While it was initially the thought of working while surrounded by the rugged beauty of Southern Utah, Nate quickly discovered a passion for working with students and witnessing firsthand the incredible journey students were invited to embark on while working on therapy in a wilderness setting.

In 2009 Nate moved back to his home state of Florida to marry the love of his life. Over the next 7 years, Nate struggled to find meaning in the business world, but he never forgot about his time in the wilderness, and often found his heart pulling him back to the woods. After the birth of his daughter in 2016, Nate and his wife decided to sell their house and move back to Utah, choosing to show their newborn child that a simple life doing something with meaning was an admirable and worthwhile pursuit.

In January 2017, Nate joined the Second Nature family as a field staff before becoming the Logistics Coordinator in October 2017. Nate has a Bachelors degree in Public Relations and enjoys spending all of his free time living life to the fullest with his lovely wife and daughter.
