Pat has been working with Second Nature for several years in a number of different roles. Born outside of Chicago, Illinois, life in the shadow of the big city was balanced by many family camping trips spanning from Southern Illinois to upstate New York. Standing alongside his family, he marveled at the huge rock formations and massive waterfalls which would spark Pat's admiration for the outdoors.

Pat studied Psychology and Sociology at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  He has always enjoyed learning about people, and especially people in group settings. That, coupled with his experience coaching youth athletic teams, provided the motivation to pair his enjoyment of the outdoors with working with teenagers. He landed at Second Nature Uintas in the winter of 2011, where he spent the next two years as a Field Instructor, with most of his second year serving as a Senior Instructor.

Pat then transitioned from the field to the office, where he spent nearly two years as the Field Director working with the Field Instructors and helping with program development.  Pat has also been involved in Second Nature's Transition program, which involves working not only with the students but also their families during the last portion of their stay.

Currently, Pat serves as the Program Director at Second Nature.  It gives him the opportunity to draw from his varied experiences, and work within a team to help to create an environment that is focused on clients and enriching for all.

Living in Heber City, Pat is joined on his journey by his wife, daughter and their dog named Cooper.
