Tiwi Nicks joins the Second Nature admissions and outreach team after having worked at a therapeutic boarding school as an Admissions Director for the past 4 years. Prior to that, she worked in the public school sector for a large school district, meeting the needs of diverse learners and their families. This aided her ability to relate to the therapeutic industry. Tiwi has a master’s degree is in Education from Arizona State University, but her interest in therapeutic programs has been developing for a great deal of time. “My work in a traditional school environment sparked my interest in helping families faced with having a child who doesn’t fit in a specific societal box or who are struggling to fully participate in their life.”
Tiwi learned about the therapeutic field many years ago through family members who worked in the industry. She has always had an interest in working with adolescents and fulfilled this through the years by coaching, teaching, and most recently her admissions role. “I want to positively impact families and young people for as long as I can. This transition to Second Nature gives me the opportunity to continue that vision and I feel honored to be a part of this amazing program!”
Tiwi was born and raised in North Idaho but now calls Phoenix, Arizona her home. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters and watching their many athletic pursuits.
